Join us "On the Road" as Dr. Matthew Kuhner presents Confession and Repentance: Our Misery Healed by God’s Mercy on Wednesday, February 25th, at 6:00 pm at St. Anthony Church (512 Locke Rd., Groton, NY)!
What is the importance of the Sacrament of Confession? How is repentance for our sins distinct from self-loathing and self-hatred? How can we cultivate the disposition of the saints, who despised their sin while also recognizing that they are loved by God so radically that he gave himself entirely for their sake? This talk will explore these questions through the contemplation of scripture, the Catechism, and works of art, in order to provide encouragement towards a life turned away from sin and towards communion with God.
“St. Bernard’s On the Road” features the ongoing availability of St. Bernard's faculty for affordable, in-person talks to parish communities throughout upstate New York. The talks offered represent a convergence of the faculty member’s expertise and the needs of the Church in our time.
