Primary Resources

The University of Rochester Rush Rhees Library

The Rush Rhees Library is the primary library for faculty and students at St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry. Most of the theological collection belonging to St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry have been merged with the University of Rochester theological collection creating an academic resource which is one of the premier libraries in North America.  You can learn more about by going to the University of Rochester River Campus Libraries website.

Russell Library

The Russell Library at St. Bernard’s in Rochester houses a modest collection of books which may be used as reference works on-site. Books cannot be checked out. An online catalog for this collection is available. This catalog may be searched by author, title and key word using the computers in the library. The computers have Internet access for research purposes. The course reserve books are also shelved in the reading room for on-site use.

Standish Library

The Standish Library at Siena College serves as the primary library resource for St. Bernard’s in Albany. You can learn more about by going to the Standish Library website.

Secondary Resources

The Rochester Regional Council Library Card (available through the Academic Dean) gives faculty and students borrowing privileges to the various academic libraries in the region. Students at St. Bernard’s in Albany have additional library resources as well.  These library resources may have differing policies and procedures. It is advisable to check with librarians at each location.  The additional library resources for St. Bernard’s students are at the following locations:

Library Courier Service

Through the Inter-library loan arrangement, students and faculty are able to pick up and return ILL materials at St. Bernard’s in Rochester.  Borrowers will be notified when the materials requested have arrived at SBSTM. These materials can be returned to St. Bernard’s as well. The courier service transporting books to and from University of Rochester runs once a week. Tuesday is the designated day for pick-up and drop-off.
