Students interested in pursuing graduate studies can choose from three degree programs that reflect the richness of the Catholic tradition. A limited number of students may also study for a graduate certificate.

Degree Programs
Master of Divinity Program (25 courses) allows students to embark on a comprehensive education and formation journey. If you are called to ordination or lay ministry leadership, or want to grasp the most complete understanding of the Catholic tradition, the Master of Divinity curriculum provides a rigorous course of study. It is rich in Catholic theology and teachings along with spiritual formation, practical experience, and reflection on contemporary application.
The 25-course curriculum invites you to engage in intellectual, pastoral, and spiritual integration of acquired knowledge in:

Theological Studies

Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies (15 courses) provides students with a solid theological background and the practical skills necessary for ministry in the Church. Students study from a variety of courses in Church History, Scripture, Systematic and Moral Theology, ministry leadership and spiritual formation.

Master of Arts (Theological Studies) (15 courses) Delve into advanced theology in the St. Bernard’s Master of Arts-Theological Studies Program. Two tracks allow students to integrate our curriculum with the student’s future plans. In the thesis track you will receive a foundation for teaching or further doctoral studies. Students may choose a non-thesis course of study. The all course track offers an alternative curriculum along with spiritual formation.

Graduate Certificate in Pastoral Studies
A limited number of candidates who lack an undergraduate degree may be allowed to pursue the Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies curiculum (NY State Ed. Hegis Code 2301.00).
Selection of candidates is on the basis of innate intelligence, range of experience, and leadership potential. To be awarded a Graduate Certificate - Pastoral Studies, the candidate must succesfully complete all course requirements and maintain a quality point average (QPA) of at least 2.0 (C).

Registration takes place in the Academic Office at specified periods as stated on the calendar. Students may register on-line, in person or by mail. All registrations are to be accompanied by the appropriate registration fee and a minimum of 25% of the tuition.
