2010 Graudates Ready to Serve
2010 Commencement Ceremonies at Sacred Heart Cathedral
St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry will celebrate its 2010 commencement at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Friday, May 7 at 4:30 p.m. Commencement speaker will be Bradford E. Hinze, B.A., M.A, Ph.D., Professor of Theology Fordham University.
Degrees will be granted to 17 candidates from St. Bernard’s Rochester and Albany programs, who have completed their study for the Master of Divinity (3), Master of Arts (Theological Studies) (2), Master of Arts, Pastoral Studies (11), Graduate Certificate in Pastoral Studies (1). Many of these graduates are already serving in leadership roles in both Rochester and Albany Dioceses, working in positions as diverse as parish Life Director, hospital chaplain, and teachers.
Bradford Hinze, Professor of Theology, specializes in the study of modern and postmodern developments in Catholic theology and the church's identity and mission in ecumenical, interreligious, and global perspectives. "I have long pondered how diverse approaches to Christ, the Spirit, and the Trinity bear upon one's views of the church's identity and mission and the nature of tradition."
Dr. Hinze also works to advance intercultural communications and the global perspective, with particular emphasis on interreligious dialogue, especially between Jews and Muslims.
