What is St. Bernard's?

Our Mission:
St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry, a Roman Catholic graduate and professional school of theology, educates and assists women and men in academic, ministerial, interpersonal, and spiritual formation for the purpose of serving the Church through diverse forms of lay and ordained ministries; theological scholarship; and Christian service in society.
Our Programs:
St. Bernard's offers three masters degrees in theology and continuing education opportunities for those seeking professional training, personal enrichment or a deeper understanding of their faith. St. Bernard's classes are held primarily in the evenings in order to accomodate the needs of part-time adult students.
Our Students:
St. Bernard's students are women and men from diverse walks of life and religious backgrounds, representing a variety of learning goals. Some are preparing for full and part time positions in lay and ordained church ministry, some for a career in teaching, and some are searching for deeper personal understanding of our rich theological tradition. While the majority of our student's come from the Roman Catholic tradition, we welcome students from diverse religious affiliations.
Our Faculty:
Our highly trained and accomplished faculty is comprised of scholars and teachers who are able to bring the Catholic tradition into dialogue with the contemporary church and world. Each is experienced in assisting students not only in the intellectual side of their development, but also in helping students integrate their classroom learning with personal, spiritual and professional development.
Our Locations:
St. Bernard's main campus is located at 120 French Road in Rochester, NY 14618, in a beautiful facility built in 2003 . The administrative offices and majority of classes are held in this location. Our Albany Extension Site is located at 40 North Main Avenue, Albany, NY, 12203. We also offer video conferencing to sites in Apalachin, Auburn and Watkins Glen in the Diocese of Rochester.
Our Credentials:
St. Bernard’s is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (www.ats.edu) and is chartered by the New York State Department of Education.
