An introduction to the basic grammar and vocabulary of the New Testament Greek, in preparation for effective exegesis work.

A215  Introduction to Biblical Hebrew (Premnath)

A basic introduction to biblical Hebrew with a view to develop skills for the study of texts. Emphasis on grammar, syntax and vocabulary.

A344  Women in the New Testament (Falcone)

An in-depth study of the women in the New Testament writings, with special reference to their identity, role, and significance from the Feminist perspective. Recent developments within the Church will be explored.

Focus on pastoral minister as leader and healer emphasizing the core attributes of self-awareness, the ability to engage people in a vision, commitment to personal spiritual growth and a basic understanding of human development as it applies to working with adults as partners in a process of conversion. The dimension of a faith perspective will be highlighted throughout.

This course will explore key themes in Merton’s spirituality - silence, solitude and contemplation; compassion, justice, and non-violence; and the recovery of unity - and consider how Merton’s life and writings shape a Christian spirituality that is personally life-giving, socially engaged and enriched by dialogue with the world’s religions.

 Summer ACT (Academy for Contemporary Theology) is  feature of our summer program. It consists of a series of short courses built around a common theme/issue. The purpose is to provide an opportunity and a forum to explore and reflect theologically on issues of contemporary relevance.

  • Open to anyone interested in engaging in contemporary theological discussion and exploration.

  • Certification students may use these modules for their program. 

  • Graduate credit available at an additional cost and with completion of additional assignments.

  • To facilitate effective planning and scheduling of courses, we urge you to register at least one week before a course begins.

C/D361 Mixed Marriages and Ministry
20 hour module $180.00 (Driscoll)

In light of the significant number of younger Catholics marrying someone from another denomination or religion (The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops puts this at 40%), this course will take a closer look at the issues, blessings and challenges in inter-church and inter-religious marriages. How can parishes nurture and minister to people in this situation?

D310  Ministry to Survivors of Violent Crime - 10 hour module $105.00 (Carter)

This course will focus on understanding the unique needs of survivors of homicide victims (not excluding assault victims); the challenges and opportunities in responding to the physical and emotional trauma and practical skills to assist and provide support to survivors.
