This course explores the psychological dimensions of religious experience and behavior from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. A wide variety of approaches (psychoanalytic, behaviorist, humanist) will be examined to help understand the phenomena of religiosity and spirituality with an eye to how they contribute both to human well-being as well as various forms of dysfunction.
