Certification Program

Lay ministry is essential for the life of any Roman Catholic faith community today. Equipping men and women in the Church with the broad knowledge required for the task of ministry in the Church is the goal of the Certificate Program at St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry.

This non-degree program introduces the student to the fundamental components of ministerial theology in the Roman Catholic Church. It provides an opportunity for students to explore important issues of the Church today and to develop practical skills needed to effectively minister in important parish positions and ministries.

While the needs of individual parishes will vary, each student will be able to study and engage in the decidedly complex, yet highly energized, environment of day-to-day parish ministry. Students can enroll in one of three courses of study:

Basic Theological Study
Parish Business Management
Catechetical Leadership (Levels 1 and 2)
